The benefits of massage are myriad, ranging from reducing stress and tension to improving sleep quality and even treating chronic pain. While these benefits are great on their own, they can be even more powerful when used as a reward for yourself or others. Here’s why giving yourself or someone special a massage is one of the best rewards around!
Improved physical health: Massage therapy increases circulation, relaxes muscles, improves range of movement, stimulates the lymphatic system, reduces muscle soreness and fatigue and even helps repair tissue damage. All of these effects lead to better physical health overall.
Lowered stress levels: Stress can take a serious toll on mental and physical health, leading to issues like depression, anxiety, insomnia and weakened immune systems – but massage has been proven to lower cortisol levels in the body thereby decreasing stress hormones in just 10 minutes! A good massage session will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards.
Better emotional wellbeing: Massage promotes relaxation which helps with feelings of happiness by increasing dopamine levels in the brain – it also stimulates serotonin production which is associated with increased feelings of contentment. And finally, if given regularly (such as once a month) it can help form a sense of community since massages are often done in pairs or groups!
Massage is an excellent reward that not only makes you feel good but also provides numerous physical and psychological benefits such as improved circulation and decreased stress levels. Not only can it be used as an occasional treat but also given regularly to support your overall well-being on multiple levels!
